The Covid-19 pandemic forced the Ad-PHS project’s partners to adapt their agenda according to the distancing measures implemented by the EU Member States. They have also obtained the agreement of the European Commission for an extension of the project until the end of 2020. This will allow them to organise the final conference of the project on 10 December, in Brussels, or by videoconference, depending on the evolution of the health situation.
The second phase of the national seminars, launched in February 2020, focuses on 10 less advanced Member States in terms of personal and household services policy (PHS). To date, only the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia have already been covered by the project’s partners. The remaining workshops will take place in the coming weeks, mostly by videoconference. EFFE is responsible for the organisation of the Estonian workshop that will take place on 29th October. In the meantime, all reports from phase 1 are already available.
As a reminder, the aims of these workshops are to assess the project’s research on PHS national frameworks and the drafted tailored guidelines, identify good practices and foster pan-European exchange and mutual learnings.
In parallel, the project’s partners have worked on a survey to measure the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the PHS sector. A call for tender has been published in order to involve a team of independent researchers that will collect and assess the public measures implemented by some Member States to support this sector. A report should be finalised by the end of November 2020.
