On Wednesday 19 June, the European Federation for Family and Employment (EFFE) was launched at the European Parliament in Brussels. The federation is founded by the IPERIA Institute for Family Employment, the French Federation of Household Employers (FEPEM) and France Grolin, under the patronage of MEP Marian Harkin (ALDE), who attended the event.
The goals of the European Federation for Family and Employment (EFFE) will become part of the Europe 2020 strategy. The EFFE will provide the impetus for a new economic, social and societal dynamic in Europe in terms of family employment. The Federation will establish a resource centre (information, publications, research, training and promotional materials) for the organisations who represent or work in the field of family employment. The EFFE also wishes to relay information regarding the evolution of family employment, and raise awareness of this sector and its challenges in the European Union. Finally, the EFFE wants to set up a network of contacts involved in the field in order to exchange best practices and create a teamwork dynamic.
