On the 28th of March 2023, EFFE joined the Global Deal, an international partnership for social dialogue. Co-led by the OECD and the ILO, this initiative brings together a community of actors who trust social dialogue as a regulatory tool. Designed as a place for exchanges between partners on the diversity of experiences and good practices in social dialogue, the Global Deal allows partners to voluntarily commit to strengthening social dialogue at all levels. It aims to provide concrete responses to reconcile economic performance and social progress.
The Global Deal brings together governments, public employers and private companies, international organizations and trade unions and also experts in social dialogue, on issues of common interest relating to economic and social policy to promote common solutions while representing their different interests. All share the idea that effective social dialogue requires mutual respect and trust to create favorable conditions for collaboration between employers, workers and governments. This can lead to labor market peace, promote competition, and enhance economic stability and shared prosperity.
The Global Deal aims to encourage governments, businesses, trade unions and other organizations to make commitments to strengthen social dialogue contribute to decent work, quality jobs and increased productivity and, by extension, to greater equality and inclusive growth. This will give EFFE the opportunity and the means to exchange ideas and good practices, participate in joint projects, share lessons learned and seek and provide strategic advice. Discussing with its new partners will make it possible to better structure the PHS sector in order to encourage the actors concerned to engage effectively in sectoral social dialogue for better recognition of domestic workers and home care.
