Clément Beaune, French Secretary of State in charge of European affairs supports the home employment sector a few months before the French Presidency of the EU Council

Clément Beaune, the French Secretary of State for European Affairs officialy supported the PHS at the French Congress of home employment, which took place in Marseille on 8 July 2021. Only 6 months before the French Presidency of the EU Council (01/2022 – 06/2022), he stressed the major role of PHS workers during the crisis and called for a reflection on their status, their remuneration and the needs of the households employing them. To this end, he encouraged Member States to develop their rules, incentives and fiscal frameworks to increase the potential of the PHS sector. Finally, he underlined the need to meet labour shortage to deal with an ageing European population.
