THE CARER + PROJECT AMONG THE 25 MOST INFLUENTIAL EUROPEAN PROJECTS ON ACTIVE AND HEALTHY AGEING

The European Commission has published a new study analyzing the impact of research and technological innovation funded by the European Union on society. The aim of this study is to measure the effectiveness of European projects supported over the past 11 years in active and healthy aging. In the fourth place of the most influential projects comes the CARER + project which enabled to better equip carers, faced with the new challenges of the digital age.

This project, which was funded by the European Union from 2012 to 2015, counted among the  leaders of the consortium two French partners and members of EFFE: IPERIA l’Institut, which was leader and Fepem.

Objectives:

The project aims to improve the quality of life of life assistants, family carers as well as older people with a loss of autonomy.

It allowed the implementation of many tools:

• The catalogue of digital skills useful for the professions of carers and life assistant;
• Training modules available in 6 languages.
• A learning platform and dedicated social networks, to foster the development of communities and the sharing of good practices of life assistants in each country participating in the trial.
• An assessment report of the trial, analyzing the effects of the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) at home as well as the uses of the pair working Life Assistant-elderly Person;
• A deployment kit for these new tools and resources.
