PROFESSIONALIZING DOMESTIC WORKERS IN EUROPE: STAKES AND PROPOSALS

PRODOME, an Erasmus+ project which finally underlines the stakes of professionalizing domestic workers in Europe, will end up by an international conference in Paris on the October 10^th, gathering all major national and European stakeholders in the field.

The European Federation for Family Employment and Home care (EFFE), alongside Spanish and Italian partners, has been involved in the European-subsidised project PRODOME for a little more than three years. The latter has committed itself to an increased offer of professionalizing paths for domestic jobs in the EU as we believe professionalization is a key asset to ensure a greater quality and greater professional security for these jobs that widely suffer from various levels of institutional, social and economic recognition among EU Member States.

The final conference of the project will take place next October 10^th in Paris. It will endeavour to display what concrete achievements the project has carried out as well as to discuss what the stakes of professionalizing domestic employees are and to initiate a collective thinking about a strategy likely to be pulled out so as to build a social Europe closer to its citizens’ needs.
